Everything that has a beginning must have an end, says the popular axiom. The axiom was no exception in the life of Olajide Samuel Oyegbile, who was offered admission to study Biochemistry, at first, in September 2008, but changed his career focus to be a medical student.
The change of focus followed the pronouncement of the Vice Chancellor of Bowen University, Iwo, Prof Timothy Olagbemiro, who allowed students of other science courses that were interested in studying Medicine to sit for a qualifying examination after which only twenty-three students who passed the examination were selected. Due to requirement for accreditation, the medical school could not take everyone who had passed, but only the best, thereby creation a standard. Therefore, 23 students started the course, signaling the beginning of the journey
